The great outdoors...

Two weekends ago, ACAS ventured out into deepest Sussex to film a promo video for the third new track to be released from our upcoming second album. The song is called ‘Green Scenery’ and in essence is about how living/working in the city means not ever getting to see the great British countryside. So we thought it fitting to get out and do the shoot at the visually very impressive Cuckmere Haven floodplains. Ironically, given the sentiment of the song, nature turned against us somewhat – choosing to cover the valley first with mist, and then later rain. To get some kind of shelter, we moved into a wood to continue the recording, and thankfully Ross and our good friend Jamie managed to get what they needed for the edit. (A few snaps from the shoot are up in the image gallery.)

We returned home a bit disappointed with the weather but pleased to have the basics of another video in the bag. Next morning, though, it turned out mother nature wasn’t done – I woke up to find my legs and feet covered with about 30 of the itchiest insect bites/stings I’ve ever known and the other guys have suffered similarly. Two weeks and one bottle of calamine later and they’re still not bloody healed…

Despite the countryside’s best efforts, the final song mix is tantalisingly close to completion and will be posted up with its video on the site very soon. As with ‘Words for the Living’ and ‘All the Wasted Hours’, it’ll be a free download in the bonus section for all registered users.
