Green Scenery - mixing and mastering complete

Coming later this week...

The great outdoors...

citizenpaul's picture

Two weekends ago, ACAS ventured out into deepest Sussex to film a promo video for the third new track to be released from our upcoming second album. The song is called ‘Green Scenery’ and in essence is about how living/working in the city means not ever getting to see the great British countryside. So we thought it fitting to get out and do the shoot at the visually very impressive Cuckmere Haven floodplains. Ironically, given the sentiment of the song, nature turned against us somewhat – choosing to cover the valley first with mist, and then later rain.

New video - finished!

I've just finished the cut for the new video and am rather looking forward to posting it up in the next few days! We'll be locking down the audio mix tomorrow evening, watch this space for some lovely new stuff coming right up..

Radiohead & House - a perfect match!

citizenross's picture

If like me, you've been eagerly awaiting the new series of House then you may have encountered the great treat of Radiohead's 'No Surprises' becoming the new theme song to the show!

I suspect that this may have been a guest musical companion to the credits, so to tie in with the rather dramatic circumstances poor old House finds himself stuck in as the episode opens, but still this was a perfect match if you ask me!

For those interested here's a trailer for the new series, (although no Radiohead here)

More news on the new ACAS vid soon!

Derren's balls / new ACAS video

citizenpaul's picture

So Derren Brown managed to correctly predict six out of six balls in this week's Wednesday lottery draw. It was a great little show and I'm a big fan of his material - particularly because he freely admits that it was all a trick, and he's going to reveal how it was done tonight. There seem to be two main theories floating around the net as to how it was done: Read more »

Reading write-up / Beatles Bank holiday

citizenpaul's picture

I was lucky enough to get to see Radiohead at Reading yesterday evening – was really a great show, and did have a few surprises, like opening up with Creep.

The set-list is here: http://www.ateaseweb.com/2009/08/30/radiohead-at-reading-festival-live-r... and the iPlayer footage here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00mgwv4/Reading_and_Leeds_Festival....

They seemed to be on good form, but the backing track went a bit mad on Idioteque: http://bbc.co.uk/i/mgwv4/?t=36m04s... this is the danger of programmed backings that I hope we can avoid when we start using them! The light show was really amazing though: Read more »

Enter The Machine

We've incorporated a laptop into our live show. Here's some footage from a recent rehearsal...

First live performance of Radiohead's 'These Are My Twisted Words'

citizenpaul's picture

Some kind soul has posted the newest Radiohead song up on YouTube, live from a recent festival. I think I like it, especially Phil's drumming, but I feel a bit sorry for poor old Ed O'Brien, who doesn't seem to have much to do on it. Roll on Reading this weekend!

How can this CD break even...?

citizenpaul's picture

I can't believe this is not a spoof! The packaging for this artist's latest CD is actually some kind of circuit board thing that also serves as an electronic instrument. Just the thing I've always been looking for... How on earth is he going to re-coup his costs? Probably every unit shifted costs him money. Buy! Buy! Buy!
