The High Order

Moulding the eerie, comic sounds of Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr Bungle, Fantomas and The Dillinger Escape Plan) with the dark, brooding sounds of Marilyn Manson (but not in a Goth way as such) and the crazy fairground/Jazz keyboard elements of Frank Zappa or Dog Fashion Disco, A Citizen Above Suspicion aren't your average UK band.

What they are doing is cutting edge because its not, if ya get what I mean!

To be considered cutting edge today in rock/metal circles you have to be experimenting with the rapidly wearing-out Emo scene or some sort of technical-Hard/Metal-Core a la SiKTh or The Dillinger Escape Plan. This is not the case with A Citizen Above Suspicion; instead they really stand away from the crowd by creating the sort of music that has only been created before by a few niche market bands such as Faith No More and Dog Fashion Disco.

Opener Cair Paravel takes the listener on a bumpy Post-Hardcore ride into the depths of Narnia and back again, the fantastic Keyboard section and spoken word samples from The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe add an eerie ending to the upbeat song.

Distinctive vocals, dark keys and punky riffs make Ten Steps To A Healthy Mind, Daylight and 4th Of July sound like something from Portrait Of An American Family or Antichrist Superstar by Marilyn Manson albeit without the whole anti Christian, God-Of-Fuck image.

The eerie, inventive instrumental sections on tracks such as The Worst Is Yet To Come (which sounds like the Batman theme tune), Black Eyes and Calculi are what really set A Citizen Above Suspicion apart from the competition; check these bitches out they definitely do something different to what the mainstream has been selling ya!
